4th grade students learn about and create butterflies

The forth grade students recently studied the life cycle of butterflies.  We studied different types of butterflies and the 4 stages in their life cycle including the eggs, larva, pupa and the development into an adult butterfly.  Students then received a full sheet of poster board so they could create their own butterfly.  Students examined the different patterns found on butterfly wings, their colors and the symmetry.  Students applied that knowledge to their own creations.
